Project Brief & Skillset Role:
The International Pipe Industry Co. (IPIC) was interested in preparing a strategic plan to explore and analyze the opportunities and threats facing IPIC, both internal and external, that contribute to or impede the development of a vision and strategy for the future.
IPIC had suffered from consecutive losses over almost two decades, leading to a complete erosion of capital by 105%, necessitated the preparation of a comprehensive study to assess the situation and provide a new strategic direction for the company, especially after its financial distressed situation that led to a debt amount exceeding the entire capital value.
Skillset role was to assess the status co of the company and to develop a new strategic plan to serve as a guiding framework to enhance the Company and provide a three years roadmap that focuses the management team’s time and energy for achieving the Company’s turnaround goals.
The strategic goal was to develop the best-fit strategy with all its directional goals and objectives. As an integral part of the internal scanning, an emergency tactical plan was issued during the fourth quarter of the year 2018 to evaluate the real capabilities and managerial attitudes as well as the resistance/acceptance levels for upcoming management approach.
The strategic planning process was tailored upon discussion with the senior management team and was designed to build on the accomplishments of the past fifteen years and on the current position of the Company. Starting with deep investigation and detailed analysis to formulate a best fit strategy that ensures the sustainability and prompt turnaround for the company using updated academic methods as well as technical and executive information, to end up with specific goals and action plans to be implemented along the upcoming three years to turnaround with the company from status-co towards ambitious future.
Skillset role included the Following Activities:
- Conducting a comprehensive assessment.
- Forecasting and setting the organizational direction of the business.
- Formulating the strategy and creating a new mission/vision and strategic objectives aligned with key stakeholders.
- Setting implementation procedures for the new strategy and determine the strategic initiatives.
- Benchmark performance measures and analysis.
- Performance evaluatio.
Incorporating the creation of precise and equitable indicators to measure efficiency in implementation through:
- Assembling a competent, precise, and trustworthy team to develop and execute the strategy.
- Conducting workshops for management and responsible parties to highlight the project’s significance, its outcomes, and measurement methods. Emphasis is placed on crafting intelligent formulations for each plan items that are applicable and quantifiable in terms of both time and performance.
