Skillset was assigned to find an engineering solution for one of Petrojet’s Challenging Projects.

This installation technique for pipelines has been developed and pre-executed by Skillset to facilitate the installation of underground pipelines for sewage disposal, drainage, sabkha areas, and non-cohesive clayey areas.

Due to the challenging nature of soil and ground characteristics, handling the line pipe for stringing and ensuring trench stability during pipeline laying poses risks to both personnel and equipment safety.

To address these concerns, we are introducing an innovative methodology to carry out construction activities safely and efficiently.

The method statement provides a secure work procedure and control measures for pipe installation, allowing for customization with project-specific details.

It encompasses preparation, excavation, pipe laying, testing, and backfilling stages.

This Pipe Installation Methodology, already utilized successfully, incorporates soil stability and bounce calculations specific to pipeline behavior during the push-pull method. Extensive studies have validated its effectiveness, with practical applications in projects such as ABU HOMOS / EL NOBATRIA 42” and MEET NAMA / ELNOBARIA P/L, both featuring a 23.8 mm wall thickness.

  • Problem assessment.
  • Brainstorming sessions with project stakeholders.
  • Study of soil characteristics along p/l route.
  • Innovative and suitable solution provision.
  • Methodology construction.
  • Statistical calculation for pipe bounce and soil stability.
  • Special methodology for open-cut crossings within the construction working strip.

By following this comprehensive approach,
we ensure a secure and efficient application
across all pipeline activities, fostering safety
and reliability throughout the construction process.
